I've said this before and will say it again, winter is the Devil's season. It's the worst season for my skin, hair, emotions, relationships and overall happiness. That being said, my first storyboard is a compilation of my and Dante's version of hell- there's fire and some sort of undefinable evil, but mostly it's just cold and frozen.
The textures of the knits, dresses and skirts are my favorite part of this. The drab colors to the sides depict everyday hell pretty well, in my opinon.
The fiery dresses are essentially how I feel about everything that happens during winter

I love this board the best! The reds are so vibrant and powerful. I agree about winter! Winter and my hair do not get along...

ReplyDeleteThis is sooo great! I just made a similar large cowl. The one I made is meant to also be worn over the head, the wearer chooses but due to the thickness of the lush yarn, I did not make it long enough to come complete over my head (like a hood) but enough to cover half my head and ears. I love "ALL" garments. Those red gowns are absolutely stunning and truly amazing! I have always been a fan of swing pants. Although patterns for them and wrap tops/dresses are hard to come by these days (sad face). After seeing these, I won't stop looking. I wish I had gone school to learn how make garment. I did learn to sew in school but not to make patterns (another sad face ha ha). Maybe you or someone else will put a how-to on making a pattern in their blog and/or a video on YouTube (hint, hint). Nice work.
ReplyDeleteSoooo bitter, but also clever. Your choice of Dante's Inferno is somewhat comical when addressing winter. The picture of the infini-scarf reminds me of you when you get all bundled up and I like that you mixed casual and formal maxi skirts and dresses.

ReplyDeleteI prefer the Ninth Circle storyboard. The color and silhouettes have a strong sex appeal. I love the mix of knits and flowy skirts. Definitely could make interesting flats.
ReplyDeleteI'm hardly ever caught wearing it, but I love when people wear white in the winter, especially in a minimalist way like the girl in the upper right corner of your board with the slim, long skirt and the gray sweater. Awesome. Your version of hell gives an icy feel which i understand is your version of the worst place to be in. I like the color story and the dresses in your fashion pictures are inspiring. Maybe i'll try white for winter next time around
